The Aluminium Short Delay Detonator and Aluminium Long Delay Detonator has strength 8 for safe ignition of sensitive explosives and primers. The detonators have primary charge of Lead Azide & Aluminium Powder and base charge of PETN. The detonation is pyrotechnically delayed at a predetermined time after the firing pulse is applied.

30 intervals for ASDD and 15 intervals for ALDD are provided for flexibility in choice of firing sequence. The Aluminium Short Delay Detonator and Aluminium Long Delay Detonator are designed to provide detonation sequence for explosive in quarries, surface operations, open pit mines and construction projects.
